What is subsidised legal assistance?
Subsidised legal assistance (toevoeging) is a government scheme managed by the Legal Aid Board (Raad voor Rechtsbijstand) that helps individuals with limited income and assets access legal support at reduced costs. If eligible, the government covers most of your legal fees and you pay a personal contribution (eigen bijdrage) based on your income.
As a lawyer specialised in tenancy and rental law, I help clients navigate disputes with landlords, rental agreements, eviction procedures, and other housing-related legal matters—often through the toevoeging scheme, making legal assistance affordable.
This aid applies to many legal issues, including housing disputes, family law, employment, and immigration.
